Homebrew PS1/2 Emulator Project WiiSX / CubeSX (PCSXGC) with Lightrec Project - Beta testers & feedback needed!

I'm not 'pressed', lol. I'm answering you as objectively as I can, from a programming standpoint. You're free to use all versions, as I did in the past when I was only another user. Not sure about that Roll Away you mention as i've never seen it or even heard about it, but i'll try to check it...

Homebrew WiiSX RX - A new fork.

Absolutely correct. I even thought at the time it was kind of surprising that a console revision can break compatibility, or introduce bugs. Okey, about the PSX DualShock controller and the adapter: I can confirm you it plays as intended. Fully tested, fully working. Same experience and...

Homebrew WiiSX RX - A new fork.

If you remind me in 12 hours, i'll gladly test with a PSX DualShock. I just never did it before as my PS2 controller is always on hand already (and they are supposed to be compatible like in the original console), the PSX one is stored. Mostly CPU / GPU / CD-ROM timings, they get tweaked and...

PS1/2 Emulator WiiStation - Another Fork of WiiSXRX released

So, you probably don't know that the HD in the snes cores doesn't exactly refer to High Definition 1080p? Lol. It is just a trick to increase the resolution on Mode7, making it look cleaner.

Homebrew PS1/2 Emulator Project WiiSX / CubeSX (PCSXGC) with Lightrec Project - Beta testers & feedback needed!

Umm, you're joking right? I keep up with the news from all the projects, I maintain WiiSXRX :D . It is thanks to WiiSX/emukidid/pcercuei that we have the dynarec core that allows us to have the PSX speed we currently enjoy on the Wii. Again, as I said, WiiSXR was 100% superceded by WiiSXRX in...

Homebrew PS1/2 Emulator Project WiiSX / CubeSX (PCSXGC) with Lightrec Project - Beta testers & feedback needed!

I keep an small "troublesome games list" here for WiiSXRX (click on "New games working"). You can check if a game was running with a particular version, so you wouldn't have to go back as far as WiiSXR which is completely superseded at this point. If you happen to know of more games working with...

    Snes9xGx vs snes9xRx

You probably don't play SNES too much, so to summarize: GX and TX suffer on Super FX timings (games run at the wrong speed), and some games on the library are not working. Also on RX is BS-X Satellaview and MSU-1 100% supported, as all of the enhancement chips. The rest of the differences...

Hacking Playstation 1 games on Wii U?

Having the BIOS in the folder is not enough. You have to select it afterwards inside the settings, "SD" or "USB" button. The readme already states that different BIOS versions don't improve or change anything. Use the recommended one. You're executing the standalone BIOS, which won't run the...

Hacking Playstation 1 games on Wii U?

Like every single Wii homebrew under the sun that anyone wants to use on the Wii U. Unless you want to launch it by entering vWii first and then the Homebrew Channel. You can't have Gamepad or overclock support by doing it like the latter. Up to you. Not sure where you might have read that, but...

What exactly does Pair My DS3 app do?

It's not voodoo magic, it won't suddenly work just by pairing it. You need to code support for the library in each app that you want it to be used.

Homebrew The Wii Ports ultimate thread

US version of Paper Mario has reached 100% decompilation progress. Once the work is finished on a PC port, we may start to see some ports in the coming months/years for consoles. https://twitter.com/ethteck/status/1648766686873665536

Hacking Playstation 1 games on Wii U?

You've been living under a rock if all you remember is not-full-speed PSX emulation. Get the Wii U channel for WiiSXRX here: https://github.com/niuus/WiiSXRX/releases The channels linked are ALWAYS properly tested on real hardware and won't cause bricks. Latest release of WiiSXRX 4.0 is here...

Is it possible to use bluebomb to play a video?

Recent Tears of the Kingdom leak trolled many people by making them download a 16 gigabytes specially packaged video that runs when you execute the game, with Ganon and link dancing to a parody of the merengue song Suavemente by Elvis Crespo. That level of trolling doesn't have to be...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
