Homebrew Homebrew app Firmware Update Question (coming from a Switch that has not been updated in years)

Yes, yes, yes! Finally, a simple way to explain it. I never knew how to word it better.

Homebrew Homebrew app Firmware Update Question (coming from a Switch that has not been updated in years)

Ah, I see. I think my Daybreak should be up to date since it was already in the Atmosphere 1.3.2 folder. I do not understand a lot of the "NAND" terminology yet, but the only thing I have done to my Switch that modified it was I load hbmenu off a game, occasionally the Album if that fails...

Homebrew Homebrew app Firmware Update Question (coming from a Switch that has not been updated in years)

= Background (can skip reading if you do not care) = So, I began homebrewing my Switch way back in January 2019. AutoRCM'd it and it began at 2.1.0, including backing it up so that it could always be reverted to its "launch" state at any time. When I first updated it, I used something that was...

Homebrew Retroarch not showing up in Homebrew Channel (Haxchi)

Hello again. My apologies for bumping my own post, but I want to come to light a discovery I made regarding my SD card, as a means for others who experience similar problems with the ".rpx" extension with their Wii U in the future. This reply is important enough where I feel a bump sounds...

Homebrew Retroarch not showing up in Homebrew Channel (Haxchi)

Very specific issue. Nobody has had it happen yet, so I am asking since it appears to be relatively unknown regarding a resolution. So, I have Retroarch on a different SD and I'm assisting somebody on setting up homebrew for their Wii U, so I copied everything over from mine. Everything works...

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

Oh. Well, thank you then. I apologize for the misinterpretation.

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

I don't think you guys read the end of my last post. I was saying I cogitated and chose to lean toward FAT32. I formatted with an allocation size of 2048, which I was told was the best cluster to choose for my intended use. I don't need anymore posts telling me about FAT32. If any further...

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

I really do believe my corruption stemmed from me updating it on the Homebrew Appstore, despite downloading it online. It might have mixed up files. Speaking of, well Ozone loaded successfully, activating the overlay menu (START+SELECT) crashes Retroarch exclusively in Ozone, so if I ignore that...

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

It doesn't allow more than 4GB on a single file and I have a lot of resources on here that exceed that limit.

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

Thank you! It loaded up Ozone just fine after I removed that CFG and it seems to be working just fine now. In fact, it is running better than it did before. Only issue I have left are some games from one of my setup playlists saying "File could not be loaded from playlist." But, I think I can...

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

I mean, I figured all I needed to know was where the file was that has the configuration for which GUI loads first. I didn't think I needed to specify more information, but it's exFAT.

And yes, I just realized I posted in the wrong category, I am very sorry. I thought I was in Switch - Exploits, Custom Firmwares & Soft Mods.

    Homebrew Retroarch Bricked (Switch)

Okay, so I updated Retroarch from the Switch Homebrew Appstore. I have no idea what happened, but after I changed over to Ozone, the software bricked and now I can no longer boot into it at all. I know there is a way to change the configuration through a text file in the microSD, so I want to...

    Hacking Half-Bricked Switch (Downgraded OS)

Okay, so I figured it all out. I changed the ".ini" to this: My GC Slot is now permanently updated, but the game cards are finally being read again. I am surprised nobody explained this better. All I wanted to know was how to do it. But, with that out of the way, I have now fixed every...

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
