How do people manage to daily drive older operating systems despite lacking features snd apps that new ones do have?

Windows 8.1 has almost the same features as Windows 10/11, but sometimes less is more!

I missed 8.1..... I remember when it was widely hated but something about the aesthetic made me love it a LOT. If it has almost the same features as 10, wouldn't that make it a viable alternative than to have Windows 11?

I daily Drive 11 and I don't have many issues with it, but someday I really want to just get rid of it altogether and move to Linux. I've tried that with Mint but I had too many problems, and >

Most of the apps that I have don't run in Linux. That's when Wine comes in. But for some reason, the UI for all apps are teeny tiny.

Ah, I understand. Linux can be quite tricky to really "get into." But it's well worth it when you do.
