  • I want to compile Lineage with OMS patches but I don't have 100GB on my Linux partition, feels bad.
11 exercises later and I'm still triggered about how Learn Python the Hard Way tries teach you things.

The "Just copy this stuff which you won't get it until further reading" way!
I just wished it explained things from get go, sigh.

The whole Python 2 vs 3 deal makes a pain to know where to start, sigh. Maybe I'll just go with Python 2.

I don't like to, because I remember these are the kind of kids we're handing the world over to.

lol, well, most people that I know have waifu as something ironic... I am worried about those "2D > 3D" people though. Natural Selection should do its thing, I guess.

I really wish netbooks were more popular, I would love a small x86 machine with enough power to do web browsing + gaming from early 00's.

I wish I could replace it, but I don't have the money. At least my main computer is good enough.

damn these specs are horrible. Even my thinkpad does well, and that's a old laptop.

I hope to upgrade my laptop by next year, it doesn't need to be a powerhouse, I just want something compact and that can do things without struggling. :P Heck, a modern Atom CPU probably is 100x times better than this.
Almost 8 hours to compile Wine on a netbook. Never again. :(

    Why didn't you just download a pre-compiled version? ._.

It was a special branch with some tweaks. :P I couldn't find a compiled binary on the official repo, so I went to the AUR. It's mostly a test to see if I can get better performance with Gallium Nine. But I guess it won't help.

Yeah, even with DRI3 and Gallium, I still get 30fps average. I guess I'll have to keep Windows around.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
