I'm interested in buying a newer model 3ds xl but is there any clear indication if it's the newest model when purchasing on i.e. amazon? Does anyone know a reputable site I could purchase one as well?

The new one doesn't come with a charger whereas an old one does.
The new one has a gray button thing over the X button, whereas the old doesn't.
The new one is more rectangular than the awkward boxy square design of the old one.
The new one usually has a glossy exterior, whereas the old XL was usually matte.
The new one has large speaker holes in a + formation.
The new one has 4 buttons on the back, and the charger port is perfectly in the middle.
