Shipped right to your door is the INMOTION Climber scooter, a Quick-Start guide, manual, miscellaneous hardware, charger, air pump adapter, and 2 replacement inner-tubes for the tires. This bad boy is HEAVY, and I struggled a bit to get it out of the box because it came partially disassembled and had cables that needed to be minded while removing it. Have a friend on standby or just cut the box from around scooter to make sure nothing gets damaged.

Needless to say, the scooter itself requires a bit of assembly. The instructions for putting everything together do not mention connecting the electronics cable, but it's fairly obvious in how to do so based on the two dangling plugs from the handles to the lower chassis. After that, it's just a handful of screws to bolt the main support and handlebars to the base and you're ready to go!

Charging is done via a port on the side of the stand/base and boasts a whopping 56km / 35 miles total travel distance from a single charge (as long as you keep it in Normal speed mode). A release latch allows you to fold the scooter in half without taking anything apart, and latching it to the rear wheel well to minimize the profile or to carry around. I won't be doing this much, as the total weight comes in at just under 46 pounds and I'm a weak little baby. I do wish the rear latch had some kind of locking mechanism, because it seems like it could come loose easily if the clip isn't pushed back entirely before picking up the scooter-- once it's lifted, though, the weight will keep it secure while transporting it.

The entire body is made of a very heavy duty feeling metal and the rubberized standing platform is nice and grippy. The rear disc brake can bring you to a screeching halt if needed, but since both wheels are connected to the motor, you can use the friction to "engine brake" in most cases where an immediate stop isn't necessary. An ultra bright white LED headlight and red rear light (that flashes when you apply the brakes!) will keep you going at night, especially in cities where they are legally required after sunset.

Features and Connectivity

Where to start... Who knew a scooter could have so many different features? After installing the INMOTION app and pairing it to your scooter, you will register it to your account so that you can "Lock" the controls and only be able to remove this restriction with your registered account (a warning is given to you during the initial pairing). There's nothing stopping someone from picking up the scooter and walking away with it it, but at least they can't hop on it and ride away while you're in a store shopping if you don't use a bike lock or chain it up to something.

The speed limiter can be set to 3 modes. The first is Pedestrian mode which cuts the scooter to a top speed of a brisk walk. Normal mode (the recommended setting for best range on a single charge) tops out at about 15MPH, and Sport mode absolutely cruises at just under 24MPH. Unfortunately, this can't be set on the controls and needs to be toggle from the app, but I pretty much always just leave it in Sport mode. On a very steep hill, in Sport mode, I got a respectable 16MPH out of the motor through the entire climb.

An optional cruise control to save your thumb/wrist from having to constantly hold down the throttle and a mode that doesn't require a push-start to engage the motor offer some creature comforts for long rides with a lot of stop-and-go. I personally leave both of these off since I know I'll accidentally hit the throttle from a full stop and end up doing a sick back-flip.

Ride data tracking is stored in the scooter and syncs up to your app whenever you connect it, uploading all the recorded stats so you can go over your ride data and performance. The app also includes a Social tab where people can share little stories and videos, and a GPS/map powered by Baidu for routing trips (though I suspect most people will just use Google maps if they are already on their phone).

The motor in Pedestrian or Normal mode is whisper quiet, and the wide air filled tires feel super smooth whether driving on the sidewalk or on the street. There is a slight whine when you crank down the throttle in Sport mode, which really packs a punch in the acceleration department (be sure to hold on tight!), but nothing annoyingly loud or high-pitched. With a 285lb carry limit, I've been using it to zip down to the grocery store with a backpack, saving me gas money and having to wait in traffic-- at ~24MPH I can actually get in and out faster than I can with my car!

The INMOTION Climber has an eye-watering price tag of $1,299 on Amazon (currently on sale for $899), but in scanning some other electric scooter on the market, for the sale price, you can only seem to pick up a single motor 1000W / 20MPH max scooter that looks much lower quality. I'm no expert on electric scooters, but having used this one constantly for a week, I could easily recommend it to anyone with the budget looking to pick one up.

Overall

This thing is an absolute blast to cruise around on. A smooth ride, powerful motor, large battery, and low operating cost has turned this into a primary mode of transportation for me.

Exept big problem for me and my fellow Scots as E-Scooters are illegal in Scotland after A few people died using them. Someone even killed an innocent person who was just walking somewhere after they crashed into them.

Anyhow great review of a product I can never use lol.
