Can't unscrew Wii U gamepad screws

If the screwdriver size is correct: More force ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

It is, at least somewhat. The Tegra checks for the correct partition UUID. Thankfully it doesn't check for eMMC serial number/make though, therefore the GUID on a new eMMC can be overwritten with the old value.

Hardware 3DS screen flashing popping and shutting down.

Your instinct is right: The ribbon cable that connects the top-half to the mainboard is RIP, get a new one and it should work as new again.

Wii U modchip based on de_Fuse now dumps and restores SLC/MLC, with redNAND and Aroma support

Because it isn't real "hard" storage like punch cards (and even those will wither away, given enough time). NAND and NOR flash (also EPROMs and other programmable storage) suffers from shorter retention time in comparison to other mediums, because they're dependant on holding their charge (on a...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I've just received the resistors in the mail and promptly replaced the old resistors with them. 51R (both 0603/0805 package) measure at about 50.2-50.4Ohms (sample size: 20 resistors) and the glitch times are expectedly just as good as with 100R in parallel and better than with the 47R resistors...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

This basically coincides with my findings about the SKHynix H26M74002HMR in its datasheet. 47Ohms was *a bit* fluky when it came to glitching, 2x100Ohms in parallel (~=50Ohms) per emmc line works a bit better. I'm currently evaluating if using 51R (given 10% manufacturing tolerance, so...

Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

No, you need 47 Ohm resistors, not 47kOhm. Also I can only advice you to buy "Lackkupferdraht" in 0.1mm and 0.3mm respectively for the installation and cpu mosfet instead of the wires you've put into your cart.

accidently installed latest firmware without atmosphere being caught up

The latest atmosphere that was compatible with FW16.0.0 is also compatible with FW16.0.1 out of the box, this ain't your issue. Try to copy the atmosphere files to the sd card again.

Ren'Py - Modifications directly in NSP files / repack

Yup, that's exactly what I want. So thanks, I'll take a look into Skyline, as theoretically Ren'Py should just dynamically load rpyc files it finds in the \game directory Regarding the file I'll shoot you a DM when I get home. There's zero need to work with the scrambled .pngs, as Ren'Py on...

Ren'Py - Modifications directly in NSP files / repack

Hey there. After I've succesfully used LayeredFS to mod Artemis Engine visual novels back to their "original" state, it looks like I've run into a brick wall when it comes to Ren'Py-games. One example of this would be the VN Summer Days, which comes with the same...

Gaming Games you loaned out but never got back?

Yeah, a whole ass SNES + all the games to my older brother, who later claimed that the games got stolen by one of their "friends" - only for me to find the exact same import copy of Street Fighter II Turbo + region adapter in my nephews game shelf 25 years later. Also a friend at school...

Homebrew Cannot exploit my ps4 on 9.0 firmware

Known error with the Al-Azif DNS, for whatever reason. If you can - block the PS servers on your router or get a RaspberryPi with PiHole to do the job.

Gameboy Color Button A not working

P10 is just a test pad. But the via for the a button is right next to it and emerges again somewhere above the U10BE silkscreen marking. If you have continuity between the button pad and those vias, it could be a problem with the CPU CGB, where it directly connects to pin 125 if I'm not mistaken.

Hardware Restoring bricked Wii w/ hardware programmer

Hey there! I have a 'small' problem with a broken Wii I own: I have the (supposed) keys.bin from bootmii, but not a full NAND backup. On the other hand, I've got two older (4.2E Boot2v2, 4.3E Boot2v2) and two fresh (4.2E Boot2v4, 4.3E Boot2v4) NAND backups of my other Wiis which are working...

    Hardware Switch won't turn on

Welp, did you manage to fix this? Usually you can't just shove a BGA-component back to where it sat in the beginning. I'd suggest you get the capacitors and resistors from Aliexpress. Usually they're a lot cheaper than those found at farnell or Reichelt Elektronik and you can even get like an...

Hardware Functional UK 2DSXL with US Motherboard?

You've got a few possibilites for the blue light + pop. As for the most probable ones judging by personal experience: - You hadn't grounded yourself before handling the boards and fried them - Some component like the screen isn't seated properly in the connectors - You have a 'soft'...

Why ppl in the West are so racist

Isn't that basically what you right-wingers say about everyone with a darker skin taint than a Tyrolean that tries to settle in the US? :^)
