Hacking Can I load backups over network?

Sorry to revive an old thread but there isn't much info on this. Have anyone tried this on a Pico?

    Large compatible USB flash drive

:O:bow: WHA--?! OMG, thank you! I recently checked but I guess I was looking in the wrong place. I was checking out the sourceforge page. This is HUGE!

    Large compatible USB flash drive

Unfortunately, USB Loader GX doesn't support SD cards for Wii games. Inexplicably, it supports SD for Gamecube though. I know others do but I prefer USB Loader GX, as does the rest of the family. I considered forking it to add SD card support but that's more effort than I want to take on.

    Large compatible USB flash drive

I appreciate all the suggestions but I am just looking for flash drive recommendations. I've done external drives, both HDD and SSD and that's not what I am looking for. I know the pros and cons of each and have 30 years experience in IT. I'll just keep using the flash drive I have if there...

    Large compatible USB flash drive

In terms of write cycles, yes. But external drives are subject to shock and other external forces that affect their lifespan. That's why the warranties for them are only a year, as opposed to desktop drives, which are typically 3-5 years.

Lol, that's what I was trying to determine.

    Large compatible USB flash drive

I've gone through two or three external drives already for my Wii. I don't use them for my computer work anymore either. Every external drive I have ever had has died, usually within a year. I've only had one flash drive die on me, ever. I have some I've had for decades but they are just too...

    3.0 usb and usbloader gx

Wait, you have a 2TB USB flash drive? Or is it an external drive, like a hard drive or SSD?

    Large compatible USB flash drive

A while ago I got a 500gb USB 3.0 flash drive for the Wii. Unfortunately it hasn't worked so well since I have to force restart the Wii just to get USB Loader GX to recognize it. Since my kid started playing the Wii lately and I find myself needing a faster drive for computer stuff. I am...

Hacking What are the chances of improvements because of the leak?

I haven't read a whole lot about the leak but I know there is speculation that it will help with a number of projects like emulators and such. I'm specifically wondering about USBLoaderGX. Are there any plans to see if there is anything interesting to use in the leak? Better game compatibility...

Hacking [TUTORIAL] Internal Hard Drive Mod for Wii [High Bandwidth!]

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I was looking at the mod and the image tags are messed up. It makes it a bit hard to follow.

Hacking usbloadergx slow to load games the first time

That's what I'm wondering. I wanted a drive I could use on other things, plus I don't think they are making 512GB drives in USB 2.0 anymore. It's fat32 with 32k clusters. I formatted it with wiibackupmanager but I just transferred them with the OS. I just tried fceultragx and it has similar...

Hacking usbloadergx slow to load games the first time

I got a new flash drive for my Wii to play backups after my external SSD died. It's a 512gb Patriot Supersonic Rage Elite. I don't know if it's the drive or a setting but games load slowly upon the first load. Once I click on the game the game screen is supposed to come up, the one with the game...

Hacking Spongebob Boating Bash freezes with usbloadergx

I'm having an issue where SpongeBob Boating Bash freezes on the title screen. I see others have had the issue before: https://gbatemp.net/threads/spongebobs-boating-bash-ntsc-on-wiiflow.381920/ I tried changing cios to no avail. The user in the thread ended up changing the drives and it...

Hacking Have to swap usb ports just to play games with usb loader gx

So, I ran a check and despite it being an SSD and only 18 months old, it's got bad sectors. I have another somewhere. If I can find it I'll try that one or I'll have to wait until I get the other one RMAd. I'm not sure if that's the cause of my issues but I don't think so (although I would...

Hacking Have to swap usb ports just to play games with usb loader gx

I meant to include but forgot, I used Wii Backup Manager to format it as fat32 with 32kb clusters. I used ModMii to update cios's just a while ago. That syscheck is from right after I updated. I just did an update option in ModMii. I didn't include a syscheck to have it determine it. Is there a...

Hacking Have to swap usb ports just to play games with usb loader gx

I'm having an issue with loading games with USB Loader GX. When I try to load a game, the default settings of using loader ios 58 and game ios 249 or 250 results in the screen going black for about 10 seconds and then back to the main menu. I then have to completely shut down my wii because if I...

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
