Wii #1752 - New Super Mario Bros. Wii (USA)

There should be a .bat file that you need to run. It will then create a copy of the iso called qf-nsmbw.fixed.iso. I just patched mine, but I won't be able to try it out until tonight.

Wii #0645 - Myth Makers Super Kart GP (USA)

I think they've actually got a good plan goin here. MKWii will get sold out and if this is sitting right next to it, parents that don't know any better will just think "Hey that's practically the same thing".

Gaming How to gain a speed boost round corners in MK Wii?

If you use the gamecube controller, do you get a boost from rocking the control stick back and forth like previous MK's? Or does that also only give you a boost from sliding time and angle?

Gaming Tricks in mario kart wii??

I've played every mario kart, and I love the motion controls. I also played a lot of excite truck and got used to the tilt steering. It did take awhile to get good with the tilt steering. Now with MKWii, I can control my drifts better with tilt steering than without.

Gaming What Mario Kart Wii control scheme do YOU use?

I chose just the wiimote (as I don't have a wheel). I played excite truck a TON, so I'm used to the sensitivity issues when doing motion steering. It only took a few races to be able to control as good as I used to with d-pad or analog stick controls. I feel like you have more control over...

    Hacking Wii Points

I'm sure generating wii points could be construed as counterfeiting. It would be similar to making your own tokens to go play games at Chuckie Cheese. This is something that I would be against. I think the real solution will be the ability to download and play cracked versions of VC games.

Hacking Did you have soldering experience?

I'm an electrical engineer. When I was an intern, I constantly had to modify prototypes. That involved soldering on stuff as small as 402 resistors and caps (402 means .04" x .02") which I usually had to do without a magnifying glass. On the wii, we've got those nice massive test pads to...

Hacking What Modchip do you use?

I use yaosm. I already had everything I needed for it, so it was an easy decision.

Hacking modding wii first time modding ever!!

Yes, this is very important. I've done all of my installs so that the chip goes into a socket that sits in the second gamecube memory slot. The chip is still hidden, but I don't have to open my wii to change it out.

Hacking modding wii first time modding ever!!

I use yaosm. It's very nice if you've got the hardware and know-how to burn your own chips. If not, it can be a pain anytime the chip needs to be updated (e.g. super mario galaxy). The only way to update is to take the chip out and reburn the newer firmware and put it back in. I installed...

Wii #0246 - Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (USA)

Can we get the info changed on this one to reflect the proper release. Even the nfo file on this one says it's a region dupe.

Hacking What is the best modchip

I would go with yaosm over wiifree. I used wiifree for awhile and it was alright...it certainly got the job done. I switched to yaosm though and I've been much happier with it.

    Hardware Opening/Soldering the WII *INFO*

has anyone had experience soldering with RoHS compliant stuff (lead free)? I assume the wii is RoHS compliant. I haven't had to work with it yet, but I've heard it takes a considerably hotter iron. Would that radioshack iron work for it?

thank you andreq a ton of other people have stated that it's a 12C508/9 too, so I figure it's a very good guess.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
