Homebrew Post Homebrew ideas, suggestion, requests here

There's a Luma fork with timelock implemented here. It's from version 10.3 though, so you'd need to do some merge magic to bump it up to 11.0 if that's important to you.

Hacking Homebrew [HELP] Badges to apps’ shortcuts confusion

Yes, you rename the png image to add in the TIDLow e.g.: Pr_MH7_PandaMH.00021000.png Here is an example of custom system badges that demonstrate the TIDLow inclusion.

    ROM Hack [WIP] Ohana3DS tool

You could try Kuriimu2 instead. It seems to be the most up-to-date texture replacing tool and it doesn't suffer from quality loss when importing .png files like Ohana apparently does.

    Editing Sprites on Terraria3DS

You should just be able to use Luma's game patching by placing your ".otx" files in the right folder structure as was done here. I.e. /luma/titles/*InsertTerrariaTitleId*/romfs/*OtherFolder???*/*FileName*.otx

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

It does use the new config.ini system. It just doesn't save the version details to the MCU, because that data is just used to determine whether to do the boot.firm copy to NAND.

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

Sorry folks, I've not had the time to do the update properly, so it's just a hacky prerelease for now. Here you can see that the config MCU write, the boot.firm NAND write and old config.bin deletion has been disabled by commenting it all out. Downside is that I have also had to temporarily...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

You've created a single TwlBg.cxi with Widescreen enabled, but not renamed it so it is being used by default in TWL mode. You can either delete the TwlBg.cxi from your SD "/luma/sysmodules/" to remove the Widescreen entirely, or do the setup to use the Quick-Switchers outlined below. To use...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

Thanks, glad you like it. Unfortunately, there isn't a simple solution that I could implement myself for that. Both screens read their brightness from the same value in config and my attempts to set them independently during the boot process just glitched them out dangerously... I have heard...

    Hacking [Release]BootNTR Selector

That's a real shame, but thank you for investigating and resolving where possible. Is there a known cause in the recent Luma changes that have exposed this underlying bug in NTR? Obviously the changes will have been made for good reason, but some people might be interested in a slightly faulty...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

Hi folks, here's the tl;dr: I will update the fork to 11.0, with at least the "auto CTRNAND boot.firm write" feature disabled (for fastboot3DS users such as myself). However, I'm not looking to rush this out since it's a major version number change (i.e. "breaking changes") and there seems to be...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

I'm keeping tabs on activity in the official branch, but some of the changes still being discussed and therefore may be subject to further edits. As a Fastboot3DS user and producer of potentially unstable builds (:P), I'd prefer to wait and see how official testing goes first... Though, I do see...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

Thanks for your support! CTGP-7 restricts the Luma version that can be used to avoid cheating, so this fork has never be compatible. It could maybe be approved for use in future, but I'd rather have the flexibility to just release new builds ad hoc for now. Yeah Night/Light was a tricky...

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

rverseTeam had to do some applet patching, so it is possible. I believe they had a discord, so perhaps you could ask around there? I don't believe there have been any homebrew applets created before though. I was going to try and install a system applet over the top of another system applet by...

New Update Sorry I've been pretty MIA lately. Here is the official Luma version number bump release! It also picks up the latest changes from the last few months. And includes the sweet custom logo.bin loading that @Ryu_Okami suggested (many thanks to creator Pixel-Pop). Um, to be honest, I'm...

    Luma 10.3 with Night/Light and Quick-Switchers - Luma 10.3 with Night/Light and Quick-Switchers

Official Luma version number bump Recent official Luma changes e.g. improved system time setting and "Wait for B release before exiting rosalina menu". Pixel-Pop's feature to load custom logo.bin from "/luma/logo.bin" (example: rename this file to "logo.bin" or create your own).

Is it possible to overclock specific titles in Luma CFW?

You can partially achieve this with the Luma fork in my signature (also available on Universal-DB app). I say partially because it's either "804MHz cpu & L2 cache" or nothing. But it is settable per title. There isn't a way to make it more granular like "804MHz only" or "L2 cache only" because...

    Rosalina Turn Wifi ON/OFF combo?

That should be possible if you were to make some edits here. Alternatively, you could try the build in my signature. It doesn't implement a whole new button combo, but it does let you quick toggle the WiFi directly from Rosalina menus by pressing START.

    Hacking [ help? ] AC:NL mod question

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The closest you could get might be to try editing the textures of existing outdoor objects like tree stumps and public works projects. I don't know how easy that would be, but there is a tutorial for editing indoor items that may be helpful for modding tools.

    Hacking Unofficial Luma build discussion

New update So I did a refactor and a rebrand to finally get the release version out. I hope that it is flexible enough to satisfy both people looking for "persistent LCD recalibration" and "pseudo-automatic redshift". It already works fine alongside this Luma fork for me. So were you...

    Luma 10.3 with Night/Light and Quick-Switchers - Luma 10.2.1 with Night/Light and Quick-Switchers

New features: Night/Light: apply custom screen filter and adjust brightness on-boot/awaken depending on time of day! (Sono discovery) Access Night/Light Config and Edit Filters via Screen filters menu. Config saved in "/luma/" as "configBootshift.bin", "lightshift.bin" and "nightshift.bin"...
