Hacking What is the difference between CFW and HFW

I heard on another post that HEN bypassed the need for .rap files for PSN games. Awhile back there was a CFW from MiraLaTijera that did the same thing. I havent gone into much research as I am just picking up on homebrew again for the PS3 but can anyone clarify if my assumptions are accurate or...

Tonyhax is a new softmod backup loader for the PlayStation 1

This is awesome! But why is it that it won’t work on SCPH-1000 models?

Hacking The "My SD2Vita/PSVSD is having issues" thread

It sounds like a faulty SD card to me, if it reads and plays games but you have issues on your SD then obviously it’s the SD. Either or adapter just reads SD cards, sure it can only read certain formats depending on the system but the hardware corrupting SD cards seems unlikely to be the problem...

Tutorial EmuMMC setup Win/Linux & Quadboot

Most likely outdated, my guess is that with the new Linux upcoming Linux distros, android 10 and hekate possibly handling the needed partitioning for us that things are going to be done differently. It’s also worth noting that last I’ve heard Linux and android are in their early stages so be...

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

I heard a number of 6.72 apps works on 7.02 so whatever I find just might do the trick.

Can you be a little more specific? I’m on 7.02 running HEN 2.13

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

I’m still open to the idea of reinitializing my PS4 and changing the region due to the 6.50 update already providing an option in the menu to swap buttons for Asia. I have a barely touched PS4 pro on firmware 7.02 that I’m willing to use as a guinea pig. Should it get the job done I’m sure we...

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

So if I’m understanding this correctly oct0xor has an viewer/editor for the system files. system.nvs and system.rec are nearly identical with the only difference that system.nvs is in the kernel (not in the HDD?) and therefore cannot be overwritten? so my guess is that although it’s the NVS...

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

Seeing that you two are very well versed in this stuff whereas I am not, and I have more or less and understanding what you guys are talking about. I’m going to reinitialize my PS4 tomorrow morning and share my findings as my contribution. I would ask for you guys to explain it to me in layman’s...

This would mean wiping the whole system clean and reinitializing the console?

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

I’ve recently read from a old thread that the debug menu had an option to swap the functions but they were on PS4s running older firmwares like 1.7x. As I said before PS3s running cfw had this option and I really enjoy using the Japanese button config. Also, it’s just not practical to use the...

Hacking System wide X and O button swap

The Japanese PlayStation consoles had the circle button to confirm and the X button to cancel, the PS3 was able to change this setting via CFW(i.e. rebug). I would like to know how to set this up for the PS4. The button customization settings in the accessibility menu don’t really get the job...
