Are we too critical of games?

Just thought I'd ask a question to the community without making a thread out of it. But it seems like a lot of gamers (as much as I hate that word now) and especially those of us at GBATemp have become critics in our own right - sometimes even to an extreme. We judge games for being simple...

I think you're shitty for making the clickbait title, but I will concede that your art is pretty on-point. Well done!

In my humble opinion, you did it wrong. It is missing a very crucial ingredient: black pepper.

Banana cream pie is also quite good.... ... no, I'm not talking about banana creampies! Get your mind out of the gutter!

I wish I had a wish-granting pickle. COVID-19 would be yeeted out of this world, and we'd have better presidential candidates in the U.S.

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'What are your dreams and goals for 2021?'

My goals? Try to keep my jobs. Thankfully I have two, but who knows for how long? I'm also studying for my CCNA, and looking to go for my Server MCSA as well. But I don't foresee any real job opportunities opening up in my area until we get a vaccine. I was planning to move by the end of this...

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'What do you use your Wii console for?'

Sadly, it's been quite some time since I've used my Wii. I did have to start using it for my Gamecube games, since my Gamecube has been having issues with video. I do also have homebrew on it though and can launch pirated games that I still have from back in the day when I was "too poor" to buy...

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'It seems like computer illiteracy is on the rise again.'

The only thing most people have is the ability to work the apps on their phones. It becomes a living hell for some of us helpdesk people who try to explain things over the phone when trying to troubleshoot their computer or mobile device. Thankfully, we use remote services at my workplace (I...

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'It's Time to Hit the Road'

Grats! I know the feeling of getting your license late. In fact, I didn't even get mine until I was 28 (I was a lazy piece of shit in my 20s). It's nice to be able to get up on a weekend and just take a drive 50 to 100 miles out of town just for the heck of it.

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'Windows 7 Support End-of-Life (Also, Why I'd Prefer Upgrading to 8.1 Over 10)'

It's the greatest tragedy that's come with the age of technology -- when someone, somewhere has access to what you do and who you are, and it's often times for profit. Sadly, I'm already on Windows 10, and apart from telemetry, my absolute biggest gripe is the shitty Settings...

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'REDDIT SUCKS! (Essay)'

Call me old-fashioned, but I miss the days when any form of social media was limited to AIM, Newgrounds and small community forums, and IRC channels were a place of solace for hackers, pirates and techies. The common trend with just about anything on the internet is that once it goes big, it...

What's especially depressing is that the subnet mask is practically given to them. I mean -- the prefix is RIGHT THERE.

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'Windows 10, An Exercise in Frustration'

It's been a while since I've tested gaming on Linux. From what I understand, WINE has come a long way in recent years. How good is performance in most titles compared to Windows?

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'Windows 10, An Exercise in Frustration'

The data mining for personal content can easily be turned off, and anything else that is sent is relative system information (hardware, system state) so no harm done there. There are simple ways to disable automatic updates as well, but it's annoying that they don't just have it in the update...

Comment by 'Delerious' in 'Windows 10, An Exercise in Frustration'

There's a reason why people were calling for MS to allow us to control out updates on Windows 10. Thankfully, I've never had any issues, but not every hardware configuration is the same, so the potential for bugs is very real. My own primary issue with Windows 10 is the division between Settings...

Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)
