hay all,
i finally got my 2DS to ver. 9.2.0-20 for Menuhax and it worked, using sysupater etc.
moreover.. i installed menuhax to my SD 64GB Class 10 card and added rxtools to it with my old GW emunand and everything,

now, i was ready to switch to rxtools as gw you had to got through the browser to load the emunand which was online, and rxtools via menuhax Autoboot was offline, so yeah,

Online = no
Offline = yes

all good and nice, but now GW goes and releases their new update 3.6.1 which has homebrew support!
just when everyone gave up on gw and that they would never have support for offline FW's +4.5,
they pull a 1UP on us all with their GW.3dsx file,

so, I'm thinking of keeping my gw and autobootng into that,

now that gw officially supports offline mode and menuhax can helps us auto boot into gw emunand menu offline, right?

i mean, via menuhax auto boot and having the gw.3dsx file as boot.3dsx etc

can the same auto boot stuff that you do for rxtools be done with the gw.3dsx?

once i install menuhax to my sd i can launch it without having cubic ninja in my 2DS?
also, i can use the same emunand that I'm using for rxtools for gw? it was the gw emunand before rxtools?

plus, rxtools auto boots bad, half the time it won't boot black screen,
and the RX-E in front of the emunand version disappears sometimes and shows ver. instead of RX-E.
whereas in GW emu it's always GW3D. 9.4.0-21 etc.

thanx

I set up my soon to be 5 year old sons 2DS with menuhax to coldboot into gateway emuand yesterday. Its perfect and simple. No need to risk accidental updates with online exploit.

I prefer rxTools personally just because it doesn't require an overpriced card, but I guess if you already have the Gateway then you may as well use it, so you can save the room on your system's SD card for homebrew and things like that.

yeah, thanx for the confirmation, the offline thing for Gateway 3DS i've been waiting for/wanting it for a long, long time now as the online thing of using the browser to load gw and then going into emunand was annoying as if you have no internet connection you couldn't use gw, also the raise of updates :(
now that gw finally gave us an 3dsx file to boot into gw emunand offline, it's all good as you don't need the internet to load gw and it's offline = portable.

yeah, true rxtools you can use game cards to backup saves, i think in the gw emunand you can't eject the gw card to load a game card for backup?
but i don't like rxtools as it had sometimes the ver. xxx instead of the RX-E dunno why that happened,
yeah i have a 64gb class 10 sd card for a all my cia games, so it's good to use GW :)

My biggest hold back from switching from gateway to cfw is .3ds rom support. 3DS roms allows my young son to "try" all the movie tie is games are are realistically only one-time events. Most of these games are not worth keeping, therefor all that time converting and installing cias is a waste. That is just for me personally.

You can use CTRBootManager and just pick whichever you prefer at the time. That's how mines setup. Well I've got HB Launcher in there as well. I default to rxtools, since with themehax I can now use it as my main DS system as well , so don't always have the Gateway card in.

yeah, thanx for the tips, Elaugaufein
or if the GW red card isn't in the system, GW emunand can't be booted, but the GW menu can be accessed however.
if you mess with the CTRmanger Boot.cfg editing the Timeout = 0 or such you can have the gw auto boot and access the homebrew channel.
