Sooo buying all of those indie games that people will probably not even play all of them, just got people the complete valve pack and portal 2 couple hours early?

Seems kind of stupid, but alright.

So it just unlocked VERY recently and you're on chapter 7?
Doesn't seem too long to me...

Well, altogether the games in the potato sack and the Valve complete pack add up to $254, so you basically got $254 worth of games, an early release for portal 2, a TF2 hat and pin all for $38.

You realize you have to play the games (well most of them) to get all the potatoes, right?

Game has been sitting on retail shelves for days now. Retailers dont know how to not stock shit early.

Unless you mean the console versions, you're wrong. PC uses steam, wouldn't unlock until now. It doesn't matter if the retailers sold which usually they can't actually do at the register anyway...

There are pictures out of Portal 2 on Target shelves. In-store games don't need Steam, as far as I'm aware. (Not an avid PC gamer.)

Portal 2 PC requires Steam to actually play it. Even if you installed the game by disc you still wouldn't be able to play the game because they are encrypted and only Steam software can unlock it.

So yeah, all of Valves games require Steam. Without Steam you could not play them without pirating a cracked version.

What's the point of buying it in a store then? That's pretty bullshit. I'm suddenly reminded why I never liked the Steam platform.

But all you're buying is a DVD and digital rights. You don't get any physical rights to the game like with consoles.
