I know the MPO format used by the DS is based around the same format used by Fujifilm's 3d camera, but what I'm having trouble figuring out is how to calculate the proper offsets for aligning the Left and Right images.

Images taken with the Fujifilm camera store a Parallax value which can be easily used to calculate proper alignment values, but MPO files from the 3DS seem to be lacking that meta data.

Has anyone messed with 3DS captures and happened to figure out how to figure the offsets out?

visual help since it might be hard to understand, notice that the main object of the photo isn't centered in either shot, so you need to calculate how far each shot would need to shift in order to align their centers
