Did you copy over your SD card content? I believe most of the games are stored in the Nintendo 3DS folder that needs to be copied over :P
I had, yes. But they're definitly not there, neither was ANY entrypoint to HB I just completed rednand setup, now setting back the contents to my SD we'll see what happens i guess

When you create the RedNAND it formats your SD, deleting all your data. That's the reason the guide says to unmount the card and backup your data.

1. You can update just fine using System settings -> system update without losing anything
2. I don't know if the save game get transferred but you can use JK Save Manager to first export your save and then import your save again
3. Yeah once they're cia's you don't have to bother with private headers!
4. EmuNAND isn't neccessary and is only more complicated. You can however make a backup. I recommend making a NAND + SD backup every two weeks so when you have to roll back, you won't lose as much. You only need your sysNAND backup as you don't have and don't need an EmuNAND.
5. Nah, with the 3DS your CFW will protect your hax and you can always update (as far as is possible now, I don't know the future) so you don't need to set up DNS.
6. You can keep the "3ds" folder and delete the subfolders of the Homebrew you don't need. You can always redownload them. Every homebrew you want to show up in your homebrew launcher has to be put in the "3ds" folder.
7. You can just use the cia files for the homebrew, if they provide one. But not all homebrew supply a cia file so you have to use the .3dsx file for it in the homebrew launcher
8. Hourglass9 can make and restore your backups while keeping A9LH installed. EmuNAND9 is for people who want an EmuNAND (for example a Japanese EmuNAND on a USA console) and you can format your SD card correctly with EmuNAND9.
9. You can basically install every homebrew, but some functions might not work on O3DS (such as streaming with NTR) or the DS emulator which runs really bad on O3DS. You can find a list of homebrew here.
10. Best to keep a clean 9.2 backup without A9LH installed for when you want to remove A9LH. You can delete all other backups you've made, only keep the most recent one. They're pretty big so they can take up quite some space.
If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask or send me a message!

Thanks alot for your help!

Just two more little questions:

1. Where is the data of the ".cia" files I installed with FBI (like the homebrew launcher) stored? Is it the Nintendo 3DS folder on my sd card?
EDIT: The answer seems to be 3 posts above this one, sorry didn´t notice before...

2. After installing a cia file, do I still need the .cia file itself?

1. Stored in the Nintendo 3DS folder as you found out on your own.

2. Nope, you can delete it. FBI even should have an option to install and delete the .cia after installation in one go.

Yeah you are right, thanks.

What if I installed a .cia file (like the homebrew launcher), and a new version gets released. Can I just install the cia again and it will overwrite my old version of the launcher (I mean delete it so that it´s not in the main menu anymore), or should I delete the old version first before I install the new one?

Usually they'll share the same title id as the old one, so you should be able to just install it and it should overwrite the old one.

Ok, Just to let you guys know, i'm really behind the times when it comes to this. I finally got a Cubic ninja game and installed Ninjhax. the next thing i'd like to do is install a CFW where i can load CIAs of GBA games. My 3DS is an old XL and my current firmware is 10.7.0-32U .... Can some one tell me if i can install a CFW with this firmware version and then guide me to a noob friendly guide to do so?

Can somebody link me to a thread on how to change the boot glitching part to something else :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You need to downgrade your 3ds first to 9.2. But your system is on 10.7 so only hardmod can do it

Ahhhh Nuts..... :hateit: i'll just wait till they can figure out a way.... Thank you.
no, hardmod is only required for 11.0.0-33. on 10.7, just find an exploit game.

You have cubic ninja and with that you can downgrade your 10.7 3ds to 9.2 and continue to set up A9LH.

I feel like this is a really stupid question, but would it be at all possible, through any means, to get a "custom" Virtual Console game running like normal on the 3DS? That is, one that you would not need to boot through any homebrew anything and that you could just tap on the menu to start up.

To be clear, I am A-OK with purchasing a Virtual Console game and replacing the ROM in that file or something of that nature if that would work; it doesn't have to be free or Miiverse-compatible, I just want a way to be able to play games like EarthBound Beginnings on my 3DS in the same way as I would a normal Virtual Console game.

If that's not possible, then that's just fine and I understand. I just couldn't think of a better place to ask this since the Ask section of this site seems to be closed for some reason. (Or maybe I'm just not qualified to post in it?)

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
