Yeah just follow the steps - you'll inject FBI later on and be able to install anything you want.
3ds.guide tells you to open GodMode9 to inject FBI, not open homebrew launcher
Correct and correct. Late night and I've done too many different methods prior to this, I'm rushing it too much x)

Thanks guys!

@Quantumcat and Dioncio3
The guide actually instructs to launch FBI through Rosalina HBL

From my research, it seems like the R4i Gold 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn) or the DSTT are the best choices. What should I go for? Keep in mind I was plugged into the community back when YSMENU was the R4 alt until WoodR4, AKAIO took over the ak2i's, and the DSTWO was king of all compatibility. I feel like my previous knowledge will be a bias for me when choosing.

The DSTT is pretty popular, but I'm not personally a fan. It's cheap, but it can't work like a normal cart in the 3DS. You'll need to use a launcher or game forwarder to use it. It's not a big deal, most people have no complaints, but hey. The R4i doesn't have that issue and can work even on unmodded systems, so that would be my suggestion.

As a bonus, it's updatable, which means there's a solid chance it can be used for ntrboothax in the future. Obviously you don't need that feature since you're already on CFW, but it could be handy to have around.

How does the unban thing exactly work? The first method requires a banned and an unbanned console, and dumping a file on the unbanned console. If I use my console to dump my file and inject it to someone else's console, and if they get banned again wouldn't my console end up being banned too?

I want to fix a friend's console that he managed to get banned, but I don't want to risk my own console in the process.

Nintendo usually bans the LocalFriendCodeSeed (which is the file you dump from the unbanned console), so yeah, if Ninty bans your friend, your console will be banned too, since they have the same LocalFriendCodeSeed.
I suggest to try a public LocalFriendCodeSeed first, so you don't risk your personal 3DS

I haven't tried this, but there is a way to do this without risking your console, but it requires a lot of consoles.

Keep a NAND backup and a backup of your SD card contents in a safe place and you'll always be fine.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hold L+R+Up+A on boot up, then cancel out of the menu that comes up. That'll delete the update. It will get downloaded again though, so if you don't need the eShop, use TubeHax DNS to stop that from happening.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Why would you need to format your SD? You don't have to update to b9s if you don't want. If there is another firmware update and Luma has to be updated to work, you'll have to update then. But you don't need to right now.
Is there a maximums size limit because it tells me that "the file is too big for destination"

Anyone else had stability issues with B9L?
I re-hacked my O3DS which was running some old exploit system (9.2.0-20 Sysnand, Menuhax booted to HBL and then I'd start Luma3DS to run EmuNAND which was updated to latest version- Unsure what this hack is called (A9LH?)).

Anyways, the reason I re-hacked this console is because I need it as a source for a 2DS that I'm about to hack which is on 11.4.0. But I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it as a source since it keeps crashing at different times.

The first crash happened after I'd been inside the NDS WiFi setup and connected it to the Nintendo WiFi Connection USB adapter (for fun), I exited back out to the 3DS System settings, and used the "Close" button at the bottom of the screen to return to system menu, and then it crashed.

Later on, I'd launched FTP (turbo whatever is included in the HBL starter pack), and when exiting back to sysmenu (since HBL was launched as a CIA channel), it crashed.

I didn't take screenshots of the errors, but it's one of these again. Anyone got suggestions for a fix? Or is this to be expected, can I just safely continue with the 2DS hacking using this O3DS as a source?

Are you using menuhax or B9S? If on menuhax, I reccomend you folow 3ds.guide on 9.2 sysnand then move your emunand to sysnand.

Yo
Is a 64 gb sd card to install b9strap ok, or is it too much?
And is there any entry for homebrew on old 11.4?

It used to be on Menuhax. I followed the guide and upgraded to B9S yesterday, and now it crashes occationally as mentioned.

I have another question;
I'm at this part of doing a transfer from the O3DS (11.4.0 B9S) to a 2DS (11.4.0 Clean). And at section III it gets kind of messy here in the guide.

Am I now supposed to do a system transfer from the O3DS to the 2DS at this point and then restore NAND on the O3DS after the 2DS has received the info from the O3DS (so I can launch the exploited game with the exploited save on the 2DS)?

Edit:
I performed a system transfer from O3DS (CFW-B9S) to 2DS (Stock). Now the 2DS won't launch DS or DSiWare titles. So I can't perform Step 7 of Section V ("Launch b9sTool by starting your DSiWare game on the target 3DS").

The troubleshooting guide suggests to install the TWL firm and version data/DS Download Play/DS Internet CIAs. But how am I supposed to do that on a console that doesn't have an exploit available yet? (It's 11.4.0)

Is it possible to corrupt the NAND without hacks?

And, is it possible to take the friend codes from a bricked 3ds with godmode9, then place it in an emunand of another system?

    I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
