So, the 3DS in Australia is extremely overpriced, $350 AUD at most stores.
Since the US dollar is about equal, yes, it is worth around $348 US in Australia.

So i was wondering whether or not i should order it from Amazon(or another store you guys recommend), and import every game i get, or just buy it for the extra $100 just for the convenience of being able to buy games from here.

In the end importing from the US would be a lot cheaper due to the fact that 1 AUD = 0.98-whatever USD

Also i would like to buy a 3DS as early as possible just in case there is some exploit that only works on the first batches of the 3DS, kind of like how the PSP exploits went down.

What you guys think/recommend?

JB Hi-Fi has them for AU$298 with a bonus accessory pack included.
If you add in what it'll cost in postage to import one from America then you're only out by less than $50 if you buy locally from JB.

For me it's worth that extra $50 to be able to play locally bought games and to have the warranty from a local shop too.

I'd just pay for the convenience. Think about how you'll feel when a great new game gets released and we've all picked it up from our local stores but yours is waiting to be shipped or gets lost in the post. It's expensive, yes. But it's only a one-time cost, after that you save time and probably money in the long run by not having to import your games.

I would recommend to wait a month until it comes down in price on eBay and snatch it from there. The PSP exploits idea is a good idea, but a month won't hurt. :P

I get all my games on eBay, as I don't mind waiting to save a few bucks. Patience is a virtue, my friend! You can also get a free 3DS from the link on my signature.
