Firstly,I'm recently trying to translate the PS2 version of Half-life into chinese
So I found an unpacking tool on Github and successfully obtained the game's word and fonts
https://github.com/supadupaplex/ps2-hl-tools
The game uses a 256x256 image placement font
And a text with text coordinates written on it
In theory, I just need to modify the font on the image to Chinese and add the corresponding Chinese in the table
I can complete this project
But the text is encoded in ASCII and cannot be written into Chinese,In the case where the original characters cannot be deleted, this table is already filled up
And even if I fully utilize a single image to add all Chinese characters, theoretically only 256 different Chinese characters can be added.
Is there a way to create a font library for the game to read
What should I do now?
