A simple save editor for Tears of the Kingdom has appeared

saveeditor.png

Out of the blue and in a surprising manner, a very simple save editor for Tears of the Kingdom has appeared on GitHub created by user IchmagKekse. The application runs on PC, and it was developed using Visual Studio with C# language.

The editor right now is quite simple and barebones in its v1.0, only allowing the editing of rupees, hearts and stamina for the main game, but as for a few minutes ago from this post, the application was updated to v1.1.0, adding support for editing Bows, Shields, Weapons and Armor as well.
When more data mining is done for the game's data once it's properly out in the wild, the amount of data gathered from all around the homebrew scene will surely help to improve and further develop this save editor, and hopefully others which have been popular for BotW in a similar manner.

The time to unlock all of the Korok seeds and map locations automatically in Tears of the Kingdom can't come soon enough!

On switch with JKSV I have different slots(00 - 05, meaning main and 5 autosaves), I tried to mod slot_00 but it didn't work, which is the one that should be modified? Looking only for unlimited rupees.

Edit: after fully checking all slots, it seems that non of them is the actual save as I'm missing the current items. I may need to update an autosave and edit that.
Did you ever figure this out?

Hopefully they add a way to change the date of your save file. I downloaded the early leaked xci and my date is stuck at 06/01/3172604 11 PM. It only lets me scan amiibo once because it doesnt go any farther than that date.

Shouldn't resaving in your console fix that though? Or trying out some of the Early Access builds of Yuzu too.
Mine had the issue of always saying 1970 as date, but it got fixed in later builds of Yuzu.
You could still try the save editor by Marc Robledo, I think that one allows changing date in some capacity, but I'm not sure if it's in-game time or the time played.

Nah i've tried that and changing dates, id assume you cant go back in time and save the game. Im playing off the switch. Could you direct me to the save editor, or the name of it?

I haven't used the one in this thread since I made the post, but I can abide by Marc's Editor, it has worked wonderfully for me in almost every aspect.
I think the only thing it needs right now is a way to mark all the Korok seeds as obtained in the map, and also unveil all the map locations, like the BotW did, but outside of that, all the other options work incredibly well.

I reeally hope that feature comes soon 🙏🏻 I already collected all the seeds in BoTW manually - I'm not keen on doing it once more 😪

Same.
I only collected the 900 Korok seeds one time, and once the Master Mode DLC came around, I used that to unlock all the seeds right from the get go.
Fuck collecting them all again, and same thing here, I don't care about those stupid collectibles that serve no other purpose than to lock you out of carrying a more diverse set of weapons.

That one is great but sadly didn’t seem to have an option to change the date of my save. I appreciate the help you’ve given me

Anyone willing and able to help me go about doing this. I have an unmodded Nintendo Switch and want to use the save editor for my Zelda tears of the kingdom game. How to I go about doing this, is it possible?

You can see it when checking the date on each of the progress.sav files. Seems like Slot 01 is the latest as stated above.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
