It seemed weird to me too. The warning thread only referred to flashcart clones and Launcher.dat modifications, so I wasn't sure how it was applicable to software on the official blue card or why this page linked to it in the first place. I thought it best to check just in case.
Thanks heaps for the info! I'll be updating to v1.62 asap :yay3ds:
They must have been talking about the Gateway 3DS (Red) card because the "Launcher.dat" and the idea of "cloning" really only applied to the red cartridge itself. The blue cartridge actually already is a clone, an R4i Gold clone to be exact, it's not a bad one though, it runs Wood R4. A flashcart bricking a console though, yea.......no sorry but there hasn't been any known case in history where that happened. There is only ONE way to brick a 3DS with a flashcart, and that is if you are completely stupid, don't read up on the device itself, and installed an exploit that didn't work on a compatible firmware of the console, issues like this have since died off though. If there was another situation unrelated to irresponsibly installing outdated and obvious brickable software then where the hell is the video proof, why wasn't the situation worse than what it was, why are flashcarts still made without people questioning them? Years ago there was speculation about the N5 and N5i flashcarts shorting out DS consoles, I personally have one and have used it, not once has it done anything funky or weird. I think the problem is people just take things WAY out of proportions and make a big ass scene over something that probably wasn't the flashcarts fault. I am not saying flashcarts in history were perfect, they all have their own flaws, there have been lots of issues in the past ranging from SD slots not working, flashcarts dying quickly, etc. That's pure factory flaws though and most of the time were fixed in later models. People seem to forget about the human side of things and how people handle their stuff in general as well, I have seen tons of flashcart related videos in my time, I have seen tons of used flashcarts end up being sold every now and again, most of the time the stuff they sell or that I have seen is in rough condition. What makes it even funnier is when people expect others to look at the beat up, potentially near dead, product and buy it. Not everyone on here is responsible with their stuff, therefore when an issue occurs they automatically blame something or someone else and not themselves about it.

That makes sense. Human error tends to be the cause of many tech faults.
It sounds like you have a lot of knowledge and experience with the DS/3DS scene, so I'm lucky to have had your help. You've really gone above and beyond anything I could have have expected. Thanks heaps!

I am glad I could be of service, the DS is one of my favorite handhelds. I also collect flashcarts as well, I don't know about every single one out there but I do study the devices quite a bit and even do tests. If there is anything else I can help with let me know.

I never moded blue card and it's play fine on last 3ds fw that support gw...
I use gw, luma3ds, ntr on o3dsxl and new3dsxl.
It's work fine on 1.4.5 jpns DSi

So why some sites show last fw support 5.0?

Stock 3DS systems running a firmware higher than 5.0 won't be able to run it, you have to have CFW to run the flashcart since it removes the flashcart blocks.
