Gaming Animal Crossing new horizons local multiplayer

Good morning.

Hoping someone can help me please

I have animal crossing for my switch which my daughter plays alot. Im wanting my switch back so thought I'd buy her a switch lite of her own.

Obviously she will go back to day one on animal crossing but If I wanted to play local multiplayer with her and give her things from her old island would I need to buy another copy of animal crossing or is the 1 digital copy ok for both of us to play?

Its not clear from the nintendo site.

I think you can play offline with just 1 digital copy

Update your game to 1.4, enable backup, contact nintendo to put your daughter's island on the switch lite, and if its a digital copy then yes there is a way but its a bit tricky.

heres what you do

download the game on both switches

launch the game on the second switch

as soon as the game opens, hold down the home button and turn on flight mode

open the game on the first switch

you should be good to go.
