Yes, I know the Nostalgia Critic has an entire review on this film, you don't need to mention it.

A lesser known animated film in the industry, The Thief and the Cobbler can very much be considered a lost classic. As seen in the trailer, Richard Williams (Famous for Who Framed Roger Rabbit) made this with the intention of it being his masterpiece. Sadly, the film eventually got handed over to Miramax whom re-cut to make it compete with the likes of Disney's Aladdin. As you can imagine, spending so many years in a film just to lose it is a heart-breaking affair, so just why is this film still a classic? Garrett Gilchrist re-edited this film in 2006 to resemble the original intent of Williams, and as a result it can now be viewed in it's intended format. Some of the original people who worked on the film lent Garrett materials so that his edit would be more complete. Although this isn't the greatest animated movie of all time, ANYONE who claims to be an animation buff has to see it. You can find the Recobbled cut on youtube, or on a torrent or popular sharing website.
