Really? I thought they really wanted it to be leaked. You can't expect good results if you send private files to a lot of unknown users.

From Original email:
Gw3ds email said:
You are receiving this email and the private link to our firmware because we
trust you as a beta-tester.
Fist of all the obvious, please do not spread the file. You can release videos,
pictures etc. but although we already tested the firmware in depth internally,
we would like your confirmation all is fine before making it public, just in
case...

The two games that have been dumped from eShop, Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies and Harmo Knight, are now playable as normal ROMs on the Gateway red cartridge. You've been able to access eShop content since 2.0b1.

WAT?! :D so i can play roms of e-shop games! :D well that's cool :) i like hawing roms as backup... so why only those two :/ (i like harmo knight) oh my, i want Gateway, but not yet, im still watching the progress... i'm worried about that bricking thing though and errors i read about... :/

I have question, with Animal crossing and pokemon x y, to backup the saves, I have to copy the entire rom? and if i put more games in te microsd, could present the problem of fragmentation in these 2 games and the possibility of loss all my progress?
Greetings!

I haven't installed 2.1 yet, but my understanding of how those titles save, it's in the nand or emunand, so you'd have to make an image of your sd card to "backup" your saves, someone had some software to extract the emunand partition from your sd card. Or you can use linux dd to copy the whole thing.

Ahhh, selective piracy.

You do know that so long as you're pirating a single game, your conscience will never truly be clear right? :P

I literally have no conscience towards piracy. I find it odd that piracy has no affect on me at all, because actual theft (in the very distant past) had a dramatic impact on me. Im not exactly sure why it impacts me so little. Maybe because I was never going to buy it anyways? Maybe because there was no physical loss by the developer?

Probably because there's a 0.00000001% chance of getting caught.

So if there any process from going to this from V2.0b1(with no emunand) OR is it a straight update?

EDIT...when is it better to install emunand? While on 2.0b1 or after updating to 2.1.

    Also somebody is remaking it

@SylverReZ, the other game where I found newgrounds is new york shark

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, or well only the demo with mindchamber's style was on newgrounds

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, FNF sucks, their community is toxic as hell.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@SylverReZ its a single player game
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, Yea but it has a shitton of mods with their own songs and stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and quite a lot of people involved in those mods get cancelled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Newgrounds wasn't the birth of FNF; rather, it was games where you beat up celebrities and parodies.
