Artist of the Week?

I kinda mentioned this on IRC between chats ....
But as a lot of users here enjoy Art - wouldnt it be nice to nominate an Artist of the week kinda thing...?
Have like a seperate Thread each week whereby the Moderator chooses who he thinks deserves that nomination.
It doesnt have to be someone who is skilled with Computer design .... it can be anyone...
A bit like that Member of the Moment you have, except for the Artist of the Week.

Does this make sense?

great idea ... there could be like 1 person per week and then in a month we have a poll and chose dude/dudet of the week

I see what you mean, might be a good idea maybe to have the mods nominate who they think it should be and the person is chosen that way...

It seems like a great idea but it shouldn't be weekly. Maybe monthly or fortnightly. Because we're going to run out of people to nominate if it was weekly
The mods of the graphics forum should nominate someone and then a topic should be opened for people to vote for the Artist of the Fortnight/Month.


I think it's a good idea, I'd like to see something like this come in.

It's going to take one hell of a lot of work to do, the first few weeks will be easy but in the long run... Hell I won't have to do anything so if you guys can do this I'm up for it.

Well, while we're at it...

I'm not sure if it was done last year, because I haven't been here that long or if this has been suggested but why not have yearly awards as well? Artist of the Year, Friendliest Mod, Most Helpful, etc. etc. You get the idea.

You know, right before the year's end or winner's to be announced the first week of the new year.
