The Mighty Duo of Asterix & Obelix are coming back to their greatest glory! Twice and Thrice!
Once again, the old-school XXL 2 game based on the popular French comic, Asterix, is coming back remastered for all platforms and this time, worldwide! This has been confirmed by Microïds on their twitter 3 days ago.
Developed by OSome Studio, XXL 2 will bring back Asterix & Obelix's crazy adventure to the current generation consoles, both at home and on the go!
The HD remaster will also receive a physical Collector's Edition and Limited Edition, with the latter getting it's full package reveal later. Those editions will only release for console versions.

Alongside the remaster, Microïds also announced Asterix & Obelix XXL 3, the long-awaited third game in the XXL series which will also come out to all platforms! Also developed by OSome Studio, XXL 3 will be a new adventure for the mighty duo, and will stay faithful to the world of comics.
Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 will be released in Late 2019. Development platforms for the threequel weren't confirmed.

Here is an overview of all the information concerning both releases(alongside the special editions), via Microïds:

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 (November 29, 2018)

Set for release under the video games label Microids, players will be able to discover or rediscover Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 on November 29, 2018.

Originally released in 2005 on PlayStation 2 and PC, the two famous Gauls take up the challenges set by Julius Caesar in his new amusement park. Players will need to keep their eyes peeled to find the many pop culture references hidden in the scenery and dialogue.

The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC as a digital and retail version. Two special editions will also be available:

  • Limited Edition: Includes the video game (for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch) as well as three figurines (Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix).
  • ‘These Gauls are Crazy!’ Collector’s Edition: Includes the video game (for PlayStation 4 or Switch), a resin figurine, and other surprises to be discovered very soon.
Asterix and Obelix XXL 3 (Late 2019)

At the end of 2019, players will be able to discover Asterix and Obelix XXL3, an original story set in a world that remains faithful to that of the comic books, on all platforms. This new action / adventure game will offer players the chance to play as Asterix or Obelix, alone or with a friend, in an adventure featuring spectacular combat rounds, exploration and puzzles to solve. Both diehard and more recent fans will be excited about taking part in this epic adventure with our two heroes.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
