StarFox and his Team get caught up in the Temporal Rift on a Routine Mission but StarFox escapes and gets thrown far across the Universe where he meets and teams up with Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy just moments after Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet and Obliterated Groot.
In a Grieving yet Angry state Rocket sees a Ship spin to Earth out of control just in time for him to jump on and acquire so he can take revenge on Thanos he takes control of the Ship while ignoring a disoriented Pilot and takes off for the Stars , The Pilot comes to and is none other than StarFox and he befriends Rocket and they both set out in the Ship which is actually Great Fox without its crew and a two Arwings still docked.
Marvel and Nintendo have very high expectations of the Movie so much so that they are even jointly working on releasing a Console based on the Movies Success code name.
