Hi,

My 3DS has seen better days, and I am going to upgrade to a new one soon. After I soft mod it, how do I move my installed titles to my new console? Is there a way to batch dump them to cia? I have over 100+ titles so I am looking for the most efficient way to do this.

Thanks!

Is your console homebrewed with Luma3DS?

Of course.

Okay great try this

1: Boot Godemode9

2: Select [A:] SYSNAND SD

2: Select the directory labeled title

3: After selecting the title folder you should see a numbered folder enter it and there should be an even longer list of numbered folders these contain your game data

4: Select a folder on this list of your choosing and select the content folder within this directory there should be several files select the one labeled with the .app extension if there are multple files with the .app extension choose the one with the smallest number in its title

5: after selecting the file on the bottom screen select NCCH image options... then select Show title info if it says title info not found select another file in the same directory with the .app extension after doing that select Build CIA from file wait for this process to complete and there will be a .cia file built to 0:/gm9/out

6: to get your save data for the game go back a few steps and select the data folder instead of the content content folder

7: once in this folder select the .dat or .sav file from this directory and copy and past these to a safe location and restore it later using Checkpoint

I hope this helps -Ryu

Thanks for taking the time to type that up. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but isn't that only dumping one title to cia? is there a utility that will dump all of my installed games to CIA?

Why not just use GM9's actual mass-dump option?:/

OP, just do this (found here: https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage.html, very handy for these things):
  1. Launch GodMode9 by holding (Start) during boot
  2. Hover over the drive applicable to the type of title you wish to dump:
    • User Installed Title: [A:] SYSNAND SD
    • System Title: [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND
  3. Hold (R) and press (A) at the same time to open the drive options
  4. Select “Search for titles”
  5. Press (A) to continue
  6. Press (A) on the .tmd file to select it, then select “TMD file options…”, then select “Build CIA (standard)”
  7. Your installable .cia formatted file will be outputted to the /gm9/out/ folder on your SD card
This way you can mass dump by simply highlighting multiples with the L button then dumping them. Just heads up that you need to have enough room on the SD card, so you should try to do few at a time to make sure you don't run out of space halfway through.

Sweet! Didn't know you could do this with GM9. Thanks so much!

would you actually have enough space to dump every game to cia in one go anyways?

I might just have enough-- if not one dump, then two. Better than 100+ manual actions :)
