Hacking Battalion Wars II update

Well, I've downloaded Battalion Wars II NTSC, my Wii is PAL.
So I guess I shouldn't update, right?
Is there a way to play it without updating?

I already had it, just didn't know when to use it.
So now I used it on the ISO, I just need to burn it and play?
