Battle royale game "The Culling: Origins" shutting down in May

On May 15 2019, The Culling servers will be taken offline permanently. After The Culling 2's disastrous failure, and eventual removal from storefronts, the original game was updated to a free-to-play game under "The Culling: Origins".
On March 18 2019, a announcement was made that all online features of the game will be pulled, after in-app purchases couldn't generate enough revenue.
The game and it's microtransactions will be made unavailable shortly from storefronts, however those that still have the game can use the offline features.

I suppose this is why you push for user run servers, at least as an option, which I guess is somewhat hard to do with microtransaction based games... though minecraft managed something like it.

Honestly the first I've heard of this game. Sounds like a game that didn't change things up for its genre enough to make it stand out.
