Gaming Better Together update for switch

I’m can’t believe how delayed this has gotten when did the update release for Xbox and Phones? Like September or October 2017. Now we are in April 2017. ALMOST 7 MONTHS. Half a year of a delay!! What the fuck is taking so long with it? Dude the next major update which is the aquatic is coming out in a matter of weeks. We need this now because there’s a chance that we can get the better together and we’ll be one step behind again because Xbox and the phones will have the aquatic update while is Nintendo users are gonna have to wait a few more months. This has been a problem since the wiiu version came out. Xbox and PlayStation would get thier updates first while it takes about a month or 2 to get the same update and by that time Xbox and PlayStation already has the next one. Bottom line, this update needs to be put already and 4j and Mojang needs to stop keeping Nintendo as a last priority.

You should probably have made a clearer title.

Stop raging, Mojang have said multiple times that the Xbox version of Better Together "could've cooked longer" as it was apperently buggy. They are trying to iron out as many bugs as possble, asap. We had news recently that the update had gone into testing by Nintendo, but as Minecraft is a large game, this could take a few weeks/a month. But that was 2-3 weeks ago so maybe soon we will have news on this. Also, Mojang had slowed progress of other projects while working on the NS version of Better Together, so the statement of Nintendo being a last priority is false.
Note: Once the Bedrock Engine (Better Together Update) is released on the Switch, the PE, Xbox, Win10 and NS versions of the game will be essentially the same, meaning that they will update at the same time. This will be necessary as well because of cross-play. So you can guarantee that all platforms will be updated at the same time (maybe a small delay due to testing/verifying the updates but nothing as long as this).

I reccomend watching some of ibxtoycat's videos that talk about the Switch version as they cover pretty much everything you need to know. Most of this is based on his videos and also statements from Mojang.

EDIT: Sony's decision to not allow cross-play means that Playstation players will more than likely NOT recieve the Better Together Update, meaning they will be behind everyone else.
I would also like to add I am also very excited for this update, mostly for server support, and hope for it to be released soon .

It's a shame. I bought Minecraft for the Switch thinking it already had crossplay, so I could play with my younger brothers, on my own screen or while I'm away from home.

And crossplay is still delayed. It's bang out of order honestly.

PC controls are terrible and cramp your hands after a while. Ergonomic gaming keyboards and mice are a gimmick. Not to mention the fact that it's not portable.

that's where you're wrong, you can setup a controller with it, you can run it on a fairly low end tablet, (runs on my $100 tablet), hell, it even runs on a raspberry pi
not to mention mods, texturepacks and skins are free

Anything more than $20~ for a mouse or $40~ for a keyboard is a rip off. Really everyone who owns a gaming mouse/keyboard is just someone that wants to show off their money with useless features, ie RGB LED's on a keyboard that are simply distracting and annoying.

I've used controllers with Minecraft on PC. It sucks since it doesn't have native controller support so you're stuck using a mouse whenever you're rearranging your inventory, crafting, using a furnace, etc since moving a cursor with an analog stick is finicky as all hell.

Same game? The wiiu got the biome update 2 months later when it came out and it’s pretty much the same game wonder what happened there. These guys have a history of delaying updates ESPECIALLY on Nintendo editions. I hate waiting half a fucking year for an update that other versions have and by then they already get a new versions so. We end up back at square one. They are the same game but you know.

Ok, go learn to respect the people putting their time into fixing all the small bugs and perfecting a game that you want.
The console editions weren't all the same update upon their releases which is why they have different versions. If you didn't notice already, Mojang haven't majorly updated Bedrock since beginning the making of Switch edition (afaik). I am aware of some patches but nothing like new features. Now, as I said previously, Mojanh have handed the game over to Nintendo and we have to wait for them to give the ok to release the update. Stop whining and be patient.
