Hacking Brickblocked?

Did it just remove update partitions? I found an old, rare game that was brickblocked and I hope it wasn't tampered with.

It patches the game to be region free so can run on pal and ntsc systems, pretty useless as most loaders can force it to run on the system's region

It's actually super useless. It only changes the information which region the game is from. This prevents your usb loader from using the correct video mode automatically. The region-lock on Wii is just that the disc channel checks the region and if it doesn't like it, it does not boot the game. When using a loader, you can always play all games from all regions*, and when using the disc channel, using region-free priiloader hacks is a much better alternative than patching discs.

*you might need to play with the settings(language, Country Strings), and have video mode problems. But patching a game to be region free wouldn't help with any of that.
