Gaming Can i make a PS3 a/v to 2.5mm cable?

So I cut of the speaker parts of some headphone and cut of the red and white parts of the ps3 a/c cable and tape them together with electrical tape and then connect them to my speakers. Will this work if i do it rite or is it not worth the risk of breaking the a/v cable?

You could also buy an adaptor for a dollar on dealextreme and not risk screwing your cables.

The cables are likely coaxial, which makes rewiring a difficult task. If they are not, however, then it ought to be sufficient to join the two ground lines (the ones going to the outer ring of the connectors) and attach them to the sleeve (the rearmost part of a TRS plug) and connect the signal lines to the remaining connectors: right from red to ring and left from white to tip.
