After long time, I finally reaches the main Home Menu and it works perfectly fine (no crash).
I'm so happy because I've waited so long time to see this menu works again ( Yes, I was able to boot the menu with an earlier build, in March 2017 and since nothing, until developpers implemented some functions a few weeks ago that make the menu works better.

And a proof with the latest canary build of Citra (build 142):

Now the next goal is trying to install system apps ( It brings back a bit of a déjà vu time, like Dolphin with the Wii Menu (empty also) ).

I think one day, Citra will add the same thing, the ability to install apps in Home Menu like Dolphin with .wads :)
Oh right. I forgot that one of Shiny Quagsire's PR lets you boot Home Menu. Not sure about firmware. But I assume you get one if you have the NAND and other 3DS system apps.

I'll ask SQ about it once he's online.

Is there any way yet to decrypt .3DS backups without having to transfer everything between the 3DS itself? I still have the xorpads from my initial CIA conversions if that helps

Hello everyone!

I have a little problem with Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome Amiibo. The game works fine, runs at full speed and the save works too, but as soon as I start digging up the ground with the shovel, the emulator just crashes.

Emulator version: Citra | HEAD-5bc6545

Hey guys

I have a simple question which I hope you can answer.

How do i change the keyboard shortcuts for swapping the main and secondary screen? By default, it's CTRL+TAB and that is not gonna work for me. I imagine it's somewhere in the config file but I can't freaking find it:/

EDIT: Okay, I managed to find the setting in the config file and changed it, but I have another problem that I simply cannot solve on my own.

For the last 2 days, I've been trying to set up my PS4 Controller to work with Citra and it has been an upward struggle. One of the last things I need to do is to bind 2 of my controller buttons so that I can toggle between fullscreen and window mode, aswell as switch between the main and primary screens. But whenver i've used either button once, DS4Windows seems to asssume that I am tapping the buttons or something, because if I use the button which toggles fullscreen, Citra will switch between the 2 screens nonstop. If i switch to another program, like IE, Windows continually toggles between fullscreen and "normal " viewing. And this doesn't stop until I shutdown DS4 completely.

I know this is not exactly Citra related, but if someone knows what the hell is going on, please tell me. It's driving me nuts:/

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
