Indie developer Pet Project Games revealed their upcoming game today: Ripout. They are describing it as a co-op sci-fi horror game with 80's vibes.

Powered by Unreal Engine, RIPOUT takes you on an action-packed fight for survival beyond Earth. After genetically engineering a powerful bioweapon to save itself from alien invaders, humanity falls victim to its own creation. You awaken in the year 2084 as one of Earth’s last surviving soldiers. Alone amongst the mutated monstrosities of mankind, will you safeguard our legacy… or will our species be forever consumed by the void?

Key features of Ripout include:

• Intense Co-op Action: Embark on dangerous missions and explore derelict spaceships on your own, or team up with squadmates in online co-op.
• Unique Experiences With Each Run: Procedurally generated levels with a variety of objectives deliver endless replayability and suspense. You’ll never know what lurks around the corner.
• Monstrous Challenges: Fight hordes of enemies capable of reconfiguring their bodies with rogue technology and other, smaller creatures for a new threat. Exploit their weaknesses to survive.

Ripout is expected to launch sometime this year on PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

It's 3D Realms after all. Outside of a small handful of titles, they've pretty much put out mediocre lower budget games and complete shovel-ware.

I grew up on Duke Nukem, commander Keen, Rise of the Triads ... So I wouldn't so much as say that "they put out mediocre lower budget games".

I believe 3D Realms is just producing this title, that said it looks like DOOM 2016 meets Dead Space meets the slow speed of Star Wars Republic Commando, aka Slow Paced Lovecraftian Sci-Fi shoot em up aka Android phone game.
