how much?!! ($229) USD? that's nearly £113, more than normal ds lite costs :S i'm presuming you only get the outer casing?

No you get the whole DS.

oh right, but still that's a bit expensive when you could do it yourself for a bit cheaper.
I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone who can do it for me for cheaper and make it look as good. I hope your not confusing this with case swapping. These guys are actually painting the DS lite. And they give you 35 color options. (Glossy and Metallic)

i got a colorware ipod from work and the paint job is very high quality and very scratch resistant. i like some of the color combinations they show. but it's cheaper to get them solid anyway. i'd love me the orange and grey one.

funny thing... a couple months ago i asked them to custom paint my DS and they said they couldn't do it.

Nice idea. But whoever came up with the 3 colour combinations in the middle needs beating around the head with their own colour wheel :S

Wait, the pricing for it's SERVICE is $229!?!? That's insane. Even the $100 extra is very, very expensive. Since when does paint cost $100?

Those in the OP are absolutely horrible but you could make really nice looking cases.
They also support metallic paint which is nice.
Its usuless though if the quality of the case doesn't match the original one.
