I have a recording of Halo saved on my 360 hard drive and want to copy it to a USB drive so I can burn it to a DVD.
Is this possible or will I have to connect my 360 to my PC?

Not possible. 360 usb ports are read only. Also I don't think halo records to a video file, but to a demo that the game plays back, so even if you could get it off, you'd need the game to play it back anyway.

Exactly. The only way to do it now is to connect your 360 to your PC via a video capture card. Then start up Halo 3, load up the vid and record it while its playing. Bungie is beta testing its render-to-video service now which allows you to basically convert a halo 3 vid to a video file that can be downloaded and played. But, its beta, and it aint gonna be free either lol. More info on that at this link: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?cid=19533
