Hacking "Couldn't find _DS_MENU.DAT"

Hi, I got an original R4 in the post today and got v1.18 firmware. I have a 2GB MicroSD card (not SDHC). It's formatted to FAT32. I have downloaded and extracted these to the root of my SD card...

"_DS_MENU.DAT"
"_DS_MSHL.NDS"
"moonshl"
"_system_"

It does not work, it keeps giving me "Couldn't find _DS_MENU.DAT", please help!
