Do 8bitdo controllers work out of the box with the switch.

Do the 8bitdo Bluetooth controllers just work out of the box with the switch or do I need a Bluetooth adapter with it? Want an extra controller for gaming with my kids but don't need anothrr Pro controller, he's only little
