After about a week of use i turned my ds on a few days ago and noticed a few black lines on the top screen about 6 pixels long going horizontally.

Weirdly they seem to be growing in length every day.

Examples

day 1: -----
--
---
day 2: -------
----
------
day 3: ------------
---------
----------

if it keeps going its going to stretch to the end of the screen and be a real pain in the ass.

Anyway of fixing this and will nintendo repair this for free it's just over a year old.

if it would've been under a year, it would definitely fall under warranty.
considering how bad it is, and it's "just" over a year it shouldn't be that hard to get it fixed by nintendo for cheap/free.

Seems like a faulty ribbon cable. You could buy a separate higher DSLite screen (watch a lot of youtube tutorials before..)

Or you can just give it back to Nintendo, who knows maybe you`ll even get a 3DS.

well my ds lite is 5 years old and i don't have the problem
i think the top screen is acting weard it's jus a hardware probem
a cousin of mine has a black corner/scrach on the top screen (all pixels are gone in this black zone)

well my tip is buying a new one the repairs are not cheap.
