Don't know if there are any test points for it, but just use the pins on the plastic battery connector, it's the yellow plastic piece on the far left side of the board, with the two metal pins in it.

You don't need to destroy the connector. just solder wires to the two pins that are on the board coming from the plastic connector. You want to check yourself but I believe the top pin is positive and the lower is negative, you can check witht the old battery if you have one.

Do you still have these pins/pads on the board though? If you still have those two in the red circle then you can use those to solder wires to, even if you broke the yellow part.

Wow that's quite a bit of damage. It looks like you've ripped the pads off the board, not to mention several traces look to be completely destroyed with how much of the top layer has been pulled off. It also looks like there's some burning or scorch marks on the board from where you've had the iron.

If I was you I definitely wouldn't try soldering a battery to that board, especially if you caused that much damage so far. It might still be usable but I'd suggest getting some broken stuff or random pcb to test your soldering skills on first before giving this one anymore work.

Also if you just want it to power on, it will work without a battery. Plug the charge port into the main board with the ribbon cable (if you have those parts) and it will work wired. That said, if it doesn't work that way, it's probably due to other damage you've done to the board, might want to test that first before playing with any rechargeable batteries.

Haha, that solder job looks like it was done by a drunk Micheal J Fox, using a hot poker instead of a soldering iron. My adivice is to get someone else to do it, they can start again & clean up the damage before you mess it up even more.

What's the point of "confirming" games you know will get released. Like Nintendo "confirming" a Zelda sequel. "We can't be sure Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game, or if a new Zelda game will ever be released, until they officially confirm it."
