Have you downloaded the demo on a PS3 or PSVita? You have to do that first before going back to SEN, unless Sony already fixed the problem or blocked downloads.

i just made a new uk psn id to try and it shows that minecraft is not available to download

You have to have a PS3 activated on your account to "see" downloads to the platform as far as I know - if it's a new account, you'd have to register your system to it.

I always wonder how exactly these kinds of things even happen. and how anyone finds out about them. i mean, who'd throw all three demos into their cart, download the ps3 one and then check back for the full game at the exactly right time anyways?

This was a thing for the God of War collection on the Vita as well a while back, didn't take them very long to fix it. So if it's still up, you might want to do it now otherwise it'll definitely be fixed by the end of today.
