Hacking Expert hacker needed (I am trying to download wads but they fail Help&

im using the guide from assassda

i have done it before but im hacking a friends wii and i am missing wads and i do not know how to get them and how to use nusd downloader.... is there away to get these wads:

"Expert hacker" is not needed. Here's how:

1. Make sure you have common-key.bin or key.bin stored in your NUSD folder. If you don't have it, download Wadder or some other Wii packing program and it will usually be included, you can copy it from there.
2. Open up NUSD v1.2 (get it from Wiibrew.org if you don't have it).
3. Click the Database button at top-right. Select the IOS/system menu/whatnot that you need. It will put the titleID and version in the boxes.
4. Check the "Pack -> Wad" box at the bottom.
5. Click "Start NUS Download!"

Done. The Wads will be in the NUSD program folder. Go nuts.

i cant get my hands on a common-key.bin can you please post it or a link to find it?

Search Key.bin wii or something like that.

Im pretty sure marcan said that the common-key.bin is not illegal. He even posted it on the hackmii blog.

If you want it go in the downloads section then other useful tools and download key maker or generator 1.1.

He said its a shared secret, I think it is illegal to share but it is so well known its like how burning CD's is illegal.

Nahh I think it is legal as long as you own a wii. Because you own the common-key.bin when you have the wii

Who said you cant extract stuff from your wii its your own property.

Nah it isn't.

And you should get FSToolbox and extract it, I can quickly find out where it is.

download ShowMiiWads 1.0b and run it and go to tools and create common key and follow instructions and common-key will be created in the ShowMiiWads folder then you can just copy it to NUSD folder

You dont need key.bin to download stuff, or to pack as WADs. That is only needed if you want to decrypt it, which you dont need to. Just run NUSD, Goto Database>IOS and select the right IOS and the right version. Then tick pack>wad and press Start NUS Download. Anyway, common key isnt illegal, and niether is burning cds illinialex24.

Right, I wasnt paying attention and thought you had to decrypt them. And by burning CD's I meant burning a CD with copyrighted music on it and giving it to a friend. Which is illegal. But how many people do it....

You dont need the (common-)key.bin. Just download the necessary stuff with NUSD and tick the pack>wad box.

im tired of this i just want to hack my friends wii so he can play backups
and id also apprieciate to know what do i need to finish it and get backups running
and i just want to know what guide to use and this is what i did so far:


Insert the SD card in the Wii and go to Data Management>Channels>SD Card press YES on the dialog box that asks to load boot.dol

Install the Homebrew Channel.

Run Trucha Bug Restorer and choose "IOS36" and pick "Downgrade IOS15" and "Load IOS from sd card" then restart

Run Trucha Bug Restorer again and choose "IOS15" then "IOS36 menu" set "IOS to slot 36" and "yes" "yes" "yes" to the 3 options then press "Install patched IOS36" and "Load IOS from sd card"

Run cIOS36_rev10-Installer and choose WAD Installation
