Extracting Sprites (and possibly more...) from a .CIA file?

I have this game and I love it but it seems not much is known about it since it is a Japan only game.

I have the game and I dumped it so I could play it on Citra.

But it is .CIA file and it's... a paper shape. Not folder. So I can't look thru it.

I want to be able to get the sprites from it first and foremost. Maybe the songs and sound effects as well to post on YouTube.

I tried looking thru other people who had asked this, but they're all quite old from what I've seen.

Thanks in advance.

A lot of things haven't changed much. What have you tried so far?
Honestly? Nothing. I was afraid there would be a BETTER way to do it. A NEWER way.

Also, I couldn't really understand what they were talking about. I'm a noob to the modding/dumping community. Sorry.

Edit: I may have find something to try... I'll try it and see if it works.

A method that works across most games is to run it in Citra and dump textures.

Otherwise, the process to extract textures and other assets varies between games, so it would help if you mention the game. In general you will need to access the game's RomFS first. To do this on PC you might want to try ninfs.
Textures... Does that count for sprites and sounds?

The game is Shijō Psi Dai no Psi Nan!?

I will try both Citra and the ninfs.
Will ninfs export sprites and sounds?

I would like to mention I just tried a tutorial by Asia81 but it did not work out for me. I hope yours will! Thanks!

(I had to remove the links... it would not let me post this)

Edit: Citra worked! Though I only see pictures (no sound that I know of?)... and it's only the stuff I had played up to that point.
Also... is this normal?

No, sounds have to be extracted manually

It exposes the filesystem (the RomFS) that the game uses but it doesn't convert the files in it into a standard format. Until you view the RomFS though you won't know what tools are needed, if they exist at all.

Ah, I see. Doing the ninfs seems quite hard... I hope when/if I get it working, you can help me convert files into a standard format?

Edit: This is really hard to understand... I wont stop trying though.

I have tried the ninfs... what do I do here? It is a .CIA file.

So, what, you want more explanations from different people that you won't understand..?

Maybe you should start by asking specific questions about specific things you don't understand?

Get your boot9.bin using this:

seeddb.bin is here:
Yes okay I will try this.

I did delete everything though due to thinking it was a fail. I will try again. Thanks!

I was hoping to get a "dumbed down" version. Like help step by step all the way. Though I am trying something I hope it will work.

Alright, I did it (thanks by the way!!!) Here is what shows up:

I hope this is normal/good? What do I do now?

Edit: I'd like to also ask.... what does it mean when it says its "Mounted"? That is quite confusing to me since I have nothing connected to my pc...

i wonder if you have seen my reply @ihaveahax ?

update!!! i have found a way to acsess the music and sound effects... although a bit hard and time consuming (there's so many and the program cant handel that much...) honestly, i thought finding the sprites would be easier! the program im usuing (every file explorer) doesnt seem to be able to read/find the sprites. ive read thru some of the game level files on the note pad since i have no other way to open it to look at and i found it reference some .cmdl and .ctex files with the characters names on it. im not sure if thats their 3d models or sprites though. but theyre refrenced in the "levels" code. i found this site with the 3ds file types (thats how i found every file explorer) but they dont seem to have a page on those 2 file types. i think thats all ive gathered so far. can anyone help?
