I have a fat ps2 which was dissembled for cleaning, now it has a yellow light turns green for a second then back to yellow no power. I may need to replace the thermal pads this came out of a smokers home so I'd like to know good options for pad replacements or if I could just use thermal paste? Maybe it's a over heating issue because dust was caked all around the thermal pads.

Clean the phone and ethernet ports. It may think something is plugged in, and is checking for an internet connection.

It may be that the power button PCB, components, or ribbon cable are damaged, and needs replaced.

Yea, i also don't think it's thermal pad wearing out, but feel free to replace it if you want, it
won't fix the issue tho.
