yeah there is a few prominent collectors they will be the ones to go to probably, i do remember watching a video about someone who sold something really rare and apparently they got to meet the buyer and had to sign an NDA about who it was (so i am assuming it was someone famous or something).....granted i think that was a very rare holy grail item but i completely forget what it was, personally i don't think this dsi hits that level of rarity/demand (that level of interaction would be reserved for the likes of a beta build of mario bros or a zelda game or something) but just an interesting story

DSi-mode cartridges also don't have access to the NAND IIRC.
Which is too bad since that would be an easy way to do it. I have a CycloDSi laying around that's never seen any use.

It depends on the permissions declared in the header (which zero retail games have, now if it was a developer console...)

As for the hardmod, it's frankly the only "fully reversible" option - backup nand and CID (with no effect on the current state), then bruteforce the ConsoleID and decrypt at leisure without having the console handy; and if the disassembly is done decently, it leaves no damage on the outside...

Best theory I've heard so far is that it's from a coke marketing team given as a prize for hitting some sales quotas. Makes sense considering the lower quality print and lack of any documentation whatsoever.

Also to the people who care about backing up v1.0j, I will be looking into the new exploit soon

A newer and better exploit is already out for the DSi Camera, the problem is is that it only works on v1.4.5.

And yet another update: It's happening currently. Someone else with v1.0J was able to make use of the v256 Memory Pit exploit and is currently dumping the NAND. We're almost there, we're getting closer!

Nope, it's just sitting in a box. I have a few ideas on how to discover potential leads but it's high effort, low chance, and I can't be bothered at this moment. I might in the future.

Nope. Still have the DSi, been putting off posting to a forum that I forgot the name of. I'm surprised this post wasn't lost to time, how did you even find it?

Probably through Google.
Also it's been more than half a year, but we do have a v1.0J nand dump now. There isn't much special going on, besides an early version of Nintendo Zone that was made before the service's launch.
