I've been trying to connect Pokemon Diamond to My Pokemon Ranch (for the mew) on my cfw 3ds. First, I tried nds-bootstrap via twilightmenu++ but it's unsupported. According to the wikitemp on flashcarts the DSTWO should support the kind of wii connectivity I need for Diamond, however I can't get it to work.
  • When run in "patch" mode, the game will see the wii, connect to it, finish the download, then hang on a white screen, presumably failing to soft reset and run the downloaded software from the wii. The wii will eventually time out.
  • When run in "clean" mode, the game will see the wii, and hang on white after selecting to connect to it. Different result but the outcome is effectively the same.
  • I have tried this on a phat nds with no change in behavior (not surprising, just being thorough).
  • I have confirmed that my particular setup (3ds cfw to a homebrew wii u) does in fact work with ds to wii connectivity with a batman game that supports it. Worked great, but clearly doesn't have the same method of connectivity as My Pokemon Ranch.
  • To be thorough, I tried to connect with an old gba Supercard SD that can launch nds games with a passme (which the DSTWO can act as), and that had a different failure, something like it immediately fails to connect to the wii after selecting it. This isn't shocking given how garbage that flashcart is.
  • I have, as far as I can tell, updated the "EOS" on the card (which should be just drag n drop into the root of the sd card) to the latest version, and putting the latest firmware update doesn't run an update, which I assume means it's on the latest firmware?
I have a buddy with an r4 clone I gifted him years ago he never uses that I might have to borrow in order for this to work (because wood r4 specifically does support the pokemon connectivity), or just by an ace3ds+. I'd just rather not ya know?

Can another DSTWO user confirm that connectivity to either My Pokemon Ranch or Pokemon Battle Revolution does indeed work with that flashcart? Old threads suggest that people have gotten this working in the past and I'm at a complete loss. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
