Mine has the url r4i-sdhc.com on it. Turns out they sold a limited edition with the b9s installer preloaded. Maybe I could find a copy of the firm floating around from that. I know there is one because of a picture on the site. (should be r4i-sdhc.firm)

I guess you have not read the link I provided before.

The .firm flasher is worthless to you, you need a .nds flasher that runs directly from the flash card the same way you play DS roms

Ah, sorry. What I was referring to was reverting it after installing CFW. I would like to continue to use it. The B9S card apparently came with something to turn it into a normal flashcart... but it turns out there were issues with bricking there. So I need something from the ntr_boot team, not the r4i-sdhc team.

Basically, what I need is a backup.bin that I can use once done installing CFW so that I can use the card again.

If you get one of the cards recommended in the guide then you can restore it back to normal, the B9S card is not worth the hassle since you have a working system already so once its on CFW you and restore it easy.

The B9S card is just the r4-sdhc team using the free software to pre-make a card but they have failed to provided a working flasher to restore the card and since its using their own modified version of B9S they will have to update it if things change later down the line.

I already have a non-B9S card which I want to use to CFW my only (New) 3DS system, and then revert it to what it used to be. I'm not looking to buy anything new, otherwise I would have gotten a legit r4i by now.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
