How can i repair a damaged 7z file?

I downloaded a 7z file for a game mod but when i open it its corrupted. and i tried the winrar repair feature but it doesnt work in 7z files.

the only program i could find that repairs damaged files is a virus too

To "repair" an arbitrary binary file, it must contain some kind of redundancy (error detection and error correction). Obviously added before corruption.
Rarely will something like be present.

WinRAR can do that since eternity, but nobody uses it.
