GCN How to trim ISO/GCM?

How can I trim a GameCube ISO/GCM? GC-Tool can scrub them, but how can I actually trim the ISO and get a smaller file?

Use Gamecube ISO tool, you can open .iso/.gcm files and save them as trimmed.

As it turns out, quite a large number of GameCube ISOs do not work, or run very slowly, after being trimmed.
